ASUS’ new RTX 5090 has broken six records!

Ana sayfa / News

As you know, RTX 5090s are among the hardest graphics cards to find these days. However, a few examples on the market today proved to be incredibly fast. The fastest of these is ASUS’ top-of-the-line ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition. The Taiwanese company announced that this board broke six world overclocking records. Here are the records achieved…

First of all, these records were set by renowned overclocker SoonHo Jeong (aka Safedisk) with a custom RTX 5090 version. Already overclocked at 2,580 MHz (boost) from the factory, the card features a four-fan (3+1) air cooling system. Safedisk used liquid nitrogen to further cool the board and managed to boost the boost speed up to 3,457 MHz. That’s a 71.39% increase compared to the factory settings.

The system used in the record attempts includes an Intel Core i9-14900KF processor. However, the GPUPI test used an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X and the Time Spy Extreme test used a Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX. Powering this allegedly “monster” system is a 1,600W ASUS ROG Thor Titanium III power supply.

The ROG Astral series (also available in RTX 5080) has a special system that can detect imbalances in the electrical load from the power supply. As you know, with 12VHPWR cables, such imbalances can pose serious risks to the graphics card, cable and even the power supply. Even if this system cannot shut down the card completely, it can at least warn the user.

So, what do you think about these records? We are waiting for your comments…
